A Point to Point Ethernet connection, also called Ethernet Point to Point, securely links two sites with dedicated bandwidth, ensuring fast, reliable, and uncontended performance for business-critical applications.
Point-to-Point Ethernet is a dedicated circuit that securely connects two sites over a private line. It enables your business to extend its network (WAN) between locations with fast, safe, and highly reliable data transfer.
When choosing an Ethernet Point-to-Point solution, one of the key decisions is the bandwidth you require. Options typically range from 100Mbps through to 10Gbps, giving you the flexibility to scale based on your business needs.
Because the connection is uncontended (1:1 contention ratio), you benefit from guaranteed upload and download speeds, minimal latency, and smoother performance for bandwidth-heavy applications like VoIP, cloud services, and video conferencing.
Point to Point Ethernet circuits are best suited to businesses needing a secure, high-performance link between two offices, branches, or sites where reliability and speed are essential.
Point to Point Ethernet circuits are ideal for businesses needing a secure, private connection between two sites located within 25km of each other.
If your organisation requires a dedicated link between offices, warehouses, or local branches, an Ethernet Point to Point network provides the performance and reliability you need.
And if your sites are spread across larger distances, there’s no issue. Our National Ethernet Point to Point service is designed to cover extended geographic reach.
So, whether you want to connect two nearby offices, multiple branches, or even remote locations, we have the right Point to Point solution for your business.
Our Proud Customers
If both locations are in strong network areas, costs can be extremely competitive. However, the more rural the sites, the higher the chance of additional charges.
Unlike a standard Ethernet service that focuses on one location, Point to Point Ethernet pricing depends on connectivity between two sites. This makes the overall cost slightly more complex, as it’s influenced by the availability and infrastructure at both ends.
As a general rule, if your sites are based in urban or business-dense areas, installation costs are typically lower, and setup times are faster. However, rural or remote sites may incur higher build costs or excess construction charges, depending on local access.
To get an accurate figure, the best step is always to request a site survey. We work with every major UK carrier and include a Price Promise Guarantee on all Point to Point Ethernet quotes — if you find a lower price elsewhere, we’ll match or beat it.
There are many advantages to choosing a Point to Point Ethernet connection. Costs can be low, reliability exceptional, and security unmatched — making it ideal for business-critical communication.
Ethernet Point to Point provides businesses with a fast, secure, and dedicated connection between two locations. It delivers consistent performance, low latency, and complete control over your data.
Speed & Flexibility: Choose from bandwidths of 100Mb, 1Gb, or 10Gb — with selected carriers offering up to 100Gb for enterprise-grade performance.
Reliability: A dedicated line guarantees uptime and stable connectivity for data, voice, and cloud applications.
Security: Your traffic stays fully private between sites, protecting sensitive information at all times.
Cost Control: Fixed monthly pricing makes planning and managing budgets simple.
For dependable, high-performance connectivity between two business sites, Point to Point Ethernet remains one of the best options available.
Point-to-Point Ethernet circuits have very flexible and high-speed options to suit all. They start at 100Mb between two locations going as far up as 100Gb with some carriers!
Costs: Businesses pay a fixed monthly fee based on an agreed level of capacity.
Control: Businesses can plan and control communication budgets with accessible usage and cost statistics.
Security: Secure transmissions are critical for company information. For example, a leased line cannot be accessed by other parties not specified by the secured networks.
Reliable: Fast and reliable transmission for voice, data, and video applications.
If you’re looking to connect 2 sites wherever they may be, looking for consistent performance and speed for uploading and downloading between them then there’s simply no better option.
Costs can be prohibitive if your locations are remote, there is no internet breakout and you dont have as many speed options as a leased line.
Point-to-point leased lines can be an expensive interconnection between two sites dependent on distance.
There is no internet breakout with a point to point leased line. It is simply a connection between two sites.
Unlike a leased line, this service does not come as a fully managed service. This is a “layer 2” wires only presentation.
There are not as many speed options as what there is with a standard leased line so may be restrictive to some.
Costs will always be a factor, and ethernet Point-to-Point connections are no different. However, if they are within a 25km distance, we can get some great pricing for you.
However, costs can spiral if one site is in the North of the country and the other is in the South. If these areas (regardless of distance) are built-up areas, then the likelihood of the pricing being high reduces significantly.
Internet access is also not an option here. This is purely a connection for 2 sites to upload and download data. There is also no line management, so there are no routers, and they are presented as wires only.
Speed options are very restricted, so you have 100Mb, 1Gb, and 10Gb, and in extreme circumstances, we can get access to 100Gb if needed, but please ask for further details.
Not only do we work with every single top tier provider in the UK, We also offer a price promise guarantee on all our quotes for all our products.
If you find a cheaper quote elsewhere, simply let us know. If it’s a “like for like” proposal, not only do we price match but we will beat it for you! Simply ask for more details.
